Growth on Lip
Submitted by hmiller23 on August 15, 2012 - 8:57pmMy 8 month old bulldog, Fiona, has a strange growth on her lip that just appeared the last few days. It looks like a flowery wart. It doesn't seem to bother her, but wanted to check with you all to see if anyone has seen something similar or know what it is. I am also going to check with my vet as well, just in case. Thanks in advance!

That does not look good and if it grew that big that fast it would be a worry to me. Definitely a vet visit. My vet would probably just remove it, but with where it is located I might want to make sure it is benign before they start taking large margins in removing it.
Hope it's nothing serious.
When Molly was a puppy she
When Molly was a puppy she got puppy warts in her mouth- actually called canine papilloma virus. She had a few on the outside and clusters on the inside, but they looked similar to that. Apparently it is a very common thing that some puppies get when the come in contact with other dogs because they're immune system isn't strong enough to fight it off. Molly's happened the same time she was getting spayed so they just lasered them off while she was under. Not sure of the treatment otherwise. good luck @ the vet! Hopefully it is nothing!
