confused about Tramadol/Ativan combo (google no help!)

Hi.....I've been TRYYYING to research this but am not finding clear info for DOGGIES!!

.....I hope someone (or several!!??) of you will know  :-)

Meaty is on Tramadol/ Ativan short-term.  I know that on their OWN-- and for HUMANS, Tramadol is for pain, and Ativan is anti-anxiety.

I just like to understand exactly what he's getting, and like I said, I've been googling but it's hard to find answers....ugh!  Thanks

in advance!

We use Tramadol for Chester when...

he's having pain from his back or leg.  It really helps him and he has had no side effects from it.  I googled Tramadol Canine and it does have some information, it can interact negatively with anti-depressants but I would hope your vet checked out Ativan before prescribing that along with it.

yea, it's not that he prescribed any Ativan.....it's that

the bottle actually says:  TRAMADOL (ATIVAN) which I think is weird because they aren't even in the same class

of drugs....ughhh!!!  The fact that Ativan is in parentheses is weird if it's NOT the same thing, that's why this is

bugging me!  I'm just gonna call the vet and ask, even though I already bugged the techs about it., but they

didn't seem to know.

Yes, I would have a chat with your vet and...

find out what's going on.  Very strange.
