Base heart Tumor
Submitted by cdogrl on June 20, 2013 - 3:56pmMy 6 year old Maddie has bee diagnosis with Base heart tumor/also know as Myocrdial tumor. I have done some googling and all info is several years old. does anyone know anything new about this. I do know it is non operable. and that we may not have long with her . they say she is not in pain. she also is being treated for arrhythmia . we took her in sat evening because her stomach was big they did ekg, ultra sound, and xrays. drew fluid from stomach to find it was not blood.

Are they putting her on Lasix to keep the fluid off?

Yes they have her on a Lasix med. also 2 other meds to her one is for her arrhythmia . she seems to have some energy at times and she won't eat her dry dog food so I cooked up ground turkey and mixed with rice. she has not pooped for a few days so bought some pumpkin from pet store which thy say helps.

unfortunately we had to put our Baby Maddie to sleep on July 8. 2013.. she took a turn for the worse we had her for a few weeks after she was diagnosed. In October we Rescued a New English Bulldog named Harley... She helps fill our heart with the loss of our Maddie..
