BCA & OFA

I recommend you go to the BCA site and review Health testing under Bulldog Health.

http://www.bulldogclubofamerica.org/bulldog.aspx

There is a great article about Being a Responsible Stud Dog Owner that I highly recommend you read.

Also go to the OFA website for the available tests and forms needed for testing.  IMO the best way to have tests done is via a testing clinic or at a dogshow.  The breed clubs often organize testing events, which provide testing at a lower cost.  Contact your local bulldog club, your mentor or your breeder for assistance in finding testing events.

My CHIC tests (Cardiac and Patella) were done by my regular vet.  You need to take the paperwork from OFA to provide to your vet for completion.  Your vet will need your dogs registration information, Microchip info and the DNA info for the paperwork.

For CERF I had that done during a CERF testing clinic.  Many dogshows will provide CERF testing at the show.

I also recommend Trachea, HIP, Spine and Elbow test (xrays) be done.  These can typically be done without sedation.

You can also find events at AKC.org .  There is an AB show coming up in Fort Wayne, IN  Nov 1-3 or something like that.

Reading and listening

A lot of info....I read some and listened to a couple of pod casts.  I missed an IBC  event today, I seem to find out about them the night before....it was bully fest...they were having puppy show and a cpr workshop....I've read on cpr too, but watching is better learning. Thanks for the answers, as the way you outlined it, I can betterstand where and how to do the testing.  I was asking my new vet about the ultrasound on the heart, I think it a referral to a cardiologist for that.....

One main worry I have is puppy switching.  That's why I had Buddy DNA tested as the first test to protect him and me.  Have you ever heardof that as a scam...seem i read about it somewhere.

Anyway, thanks a lot now I can do some learning.

Ain't gonna make it this weekend

I can speak better but...you know internet slang....Anyway I wanted to Go to Ft. Wayne this weekend to get Buddies eyes certified, but it won't be this weekend and this show.  I did learn the Dr. is from Purdue and so I know I can find her closer to home, and a different vet for the heart and throat too.  I did learn some stuff, so thanks again......it help to get the info from people who already know.
