Cinny about ready to blow-at least 10 days left

Cinny is getting HUGE-I changed her food to home cooked so I can limit her sodium. She also takes a prenatal vitamin daily & cranberry pills. Either these pups are going to walk out, are water pups or she has a bunch in there. She was only bred standard AI once on 2\4. She was a 3.9 on her progesterone on 2/1. This is Priscilla(Thunderstruck Devil In Disguise) and Edwards(Thunderstruck Twilight Edward) dam. Sire is Ch Beefeaters Muscle Man of Imok. I hate large litters-make me sick by the time they get here. I'd so much rather have 3 or 4 babies........Say a prayer for our sweet girl that she makes it at least to next Monday.
Thanks!

Definitely have to go with the gut feeling!

My vets are pretty good-Cinny's health and survival will be first in their minds. I've had a couple litters the pups had to come at day 58-59 because mom was stressing and vets just said they had to go. I've never lost a pregnant bitch and that is my worst fear anytime they are bred but especially when bigger. Thanks!

Yeah I imagine a litter of 5-6 being perfect

I don't know how in the world I'd deal with 9-11 puppies. My girls mom had 9 pups with 6 living... I will be happy as pie if she has no more than 5-6 LOL

Photo's small girl with 9 pups......

I don't have a photo of her on her litter of 11 the last few days. I Hate the last week or two. Addie had 9 her first litter and 11 the second. She weighed about 45-48lbs before pups. She was huge. I took her to the vet a few times the last week to have her checked.I would have taken the pups if my vet thought she was in danger. I stayed up with her at night and would put pillows all around her in a pearle bed. I also made her food like puppy mush the last week or so. She could eat and not be miserable.
She also would get an infection after she was bred. We had to put her on an antibiotics. Both litters her milk was toxic and we had to bottle feed. sad.gif
Good luck, go with your gut. Prayers go out to you.
Here are her pics at day 58.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away.

good luck!!

I had a girl have 12 last year, 10 lived...... honestly it was horrible and she had NO ROOM, she was on a liquid diet the last week and a half, I knew she had 12 my vet kept telling me to relax and only 7 showed up on the x ray. The day she puked up a small piece of liver I took her in for her section. She was spayed because I would never want to go through that again. Took me a year to try another litter and thank god I had 4....lol, best wishes... trust your gut!

I think I would just shoot myself LOL

if I had 19 puppies at one time. I love litters of 3-5. We all sit around and hold and play with puppies-when there is more than that they have to take turns about.

sitting down she looks smaller

when she stands up its like WOW! I hope I am just stressing(I always do). She seems in good spirits and still goes to the part of the yard furthest from the house to potty so I am hoping that is a good sign that she still wants to walk around. I've had a couple that would get to the bottom of the ramp and just do their business or I had to carry outside as it was too much for them to walk it at the end. She's not stressing yet(and pray she doesn't). Thanks guys-it's always nice to just have someone to talk to happy.gif) help relieve some of the fears.

My friend had 19!

Yes, 19 pups 5 days apart. One dam had 11 pups the other had 8 (my male sired one litter). One pup out of each litter died, so she ended up raising 17 pups. Needless to say she was glad to see them go. I can't imagine all that poop!

She doesn't look to alarmingly large...

and in the next week the pups move back more so she should have more room to breathe! Chubbs looked HUGE when she was 7 weeks along with five pups--but by 8 weeks didn't look any bigger, it just shifted back. I do know what you mean about that last "worry week" though--it can be pretty scary! Prayers for you and your little Momma! (and healthy babies, too!)

9 survived but the worse time was when we had 16 from 2 dams 1 day apart, that was a nightmare hahaha

We have a litter of 6 at the moment and I reckon thats the perfect number happy.gif

I just don't like she's this big this soon

she looks like she swallowed a couple watermelons. Her last litter of 3(that Priss & Edward are out of) we couldn't really tell she was pregnant until the last week-so that's why I'm getting nervous. She may be carrying alot of fluid. I've had a couple bitches carry 7-8 and be fine up to the very end-then I've had a few that had 5-6 that was stressing at the end. I think I need to start taking anti-anxiety meds during this time LOL.
Thanks Louise!

Do'nt panic the size of the bitch rarely indicates litter size

I have had bitches both carrying 8 pups 1 was enormous the other both the vet and I were querying whether she was in fact pregnant even the day of the c-section. Like humans all bitches carry differently.
