We got a SWEET deal on meat! 25 cents a meal!

I tell you, this is exciting! My husband just found 2 packs of stew beef and 2 packs of ground beef on sale in a package, that was just enough to feed all 3 dogs for 2 days. It worked out to a quarter a meal!
Can't beat that!

ROTFLMAO!

I can't imagine EVER reaching that stage! A few days ago we threw away a huge piece of meat that was left in the pork pack, because WE couldn't deal with the smell in the house. The dogs maybe coulda eaten it, but GEESH, we LIVE in that house, just no way we are having that in there.
I think my kids would have me commited if I ever went dead critter-a-huntin!

eewwww and YUCK! I just do NOT know how people do it!

I HATE the grocery store, HATE it

so I spend as little time as possible in there. My husband is really the shopper, and he just grabs what's cheap and it's usually reached it's shelf life, so we use it right up.

The beautiful thing about it is

it could easily be for either! Our grocery store has had 20 pound packs of pork on sale, so my husband takes out ours and the dogs, and we all eat from it for close to a week! It's awesome!

A friend of mine has 3 raw-fed Newfies...

Her husband hit a deer on a dark wooded road. He called his wife from the scene to let her know... and the first thing she asked was "Is she alive? Do the dogs get supper?" happy.gif Eeeek! LOL...

She posted this on Facebook, and a bunch of his buddies were furious to think that perfectly good venison would go "to waste" (to the doggies.) happy.gif

LOL, that's funny Cathy

I know when I label things in the freezer I have to put "K9" on the package....hubby is always asking, is that for us? or the dogs? LOL

LOL! I had a real smart a** comment about

the true sweetness of the deal, but I decided to refrain. wink.gif
I have not had to freeze anything yet, we just buy enough for a few days at a time.
I am wicked excited about 25 cents a meal though! SCORE

One of the fun things about raw.....

the thrill of the hunt!! I love it - getting ready to buy a "dog" freezer shortly - bought a used one from a friend, I was SOO excited, but when we got it home it wouldn't work...darn!! was a sweet deal too!!

with three newfies i"d be.....

loading up that deer myself.....thats why when i was raising and training 20 to 25 rotties,,,,,i would buy whole beefers, and lamb at auction....still less expensive even with the butchering....
so Julia what is your diet...i would love to no....and if this is not a sad subjsect did you feed grover raw.... or did you start on kibble then go over???
what is your view... on raw fed...happier dogs? healthier?
