? Progesterone levels for whelping

Does anyone know the progesterone level for when it is safe for a c-section?

Thanks,
Becky

she should be just fine

i like to take them at 60 days from the 2nd breeding.

I have only had 1 go in Labor and that was Holly we implanted and she went in labor the night before she was due.

Hugs, to you all and kiss those babies.

Thanks Chris and Vicky ....went to vet

got nervous went to vet and had another prog done. Prog is now 4.01
Vet thinks it will be best to just do the section in the am. regardless of progesterone level. Her temp dropped even more to 97.1 the vet feels that the temp is not as accurate as the progesterone test. He said bulldogs should never see any form of labor. So hopefully we make it thru the night to tomorrow am. Guess we're lucky that the vet has in house progesterone machine.

the size of the litter has alot to do with it

10 is huge and very hard. If you took the 10 before they were 2 you might have lost them all.

Our situation...All thoughts appreciated

8/5/08 58days from ovulation 57days from implant PROG LEVEL 15.89 Temp range 99
8/6/08 59 days from ovulation 58 days from implant Temp range 98.4 - 99
8/7/08 60 days from ovulation 59 days from implant PROG LEVEL 7.41 TEMP am.98.0 Noon 97.6
Bitch will not eat is nesting 1st litter vomits for other pups in house and not eating.

Vet's office closes at 7pm. Opens 8am. No Sunday hours. On Sat our usual bully vet is not on. Other vet is OK but NOT like our vet.

Have appt. for prog. 10 am tomorrow.

Can't find decent er vet for miles. I am probably being overly concerned but worrying is what I do best.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Becky

How troublesome did u find it

Our last litter we took at 5ng. Because it was a Sat nite and vet did not trust er vet and would be out of town. We had no difficulties all 8 were fat and healthy. First litter was taken at 2ng. All 10 were small and had difficulties until 10 days.

Is it different with each litter?
