My experience with DiaBac for dogs

Hello...just wanted to share my experience with Diabac. Tuffy's breeder recommended it to me and to be honest I was kind of skeptical. But boy does this stuff work like magic! For those of you who haven't heard of it, it's an anti-diarrhea supplement to aid in controlling bacterial diarrhea symptoms such as E. Coli and Salmonella in the upper GI tract. Causes include food changes, food allergies, Stress, Indiscretions in diet and Environment changes

It can also be administered prior to stress-induced events to help reduce the incidence of diarrhea. The best part is that it's totally safe for dogs and there are literally no adverse side effects! You are supposed to see results within 24 hours but I actually saw results in a couple of hours. He had the runs (from eating too much grass I believe) and after just two capsules he's back on track. Just wish I could give it to Tuffy every day!! So for those of you looking for a gentle anti-diarrhea aid you might want to give it a shot.

Probably better to hide it in a treat

if you can't get him to swallow it. Maybe hide it in a piece of coldcut meat or cheese. Your bully might not like the taste of it if you sprinkle it on his food but if your dig isn't finicky it might work! We use the small capsules and are abole to get them down Tuffy's throat to swallow but the medium size kind might be better off putting in a treat...

hi kim! did this

keep tuffy's stool firm even after you stopped giving it to him? i know he's had the same issues as cooper with the soft poop. if it gets them back on track & stays that way, i'll definitely try it! thanks for the info!!

Question??

I just ordered some and find that the capsules are quite large. Is it ok to open the up and put in his food? Does it taste nasty or will he not notice???

Hi Becky!

I wish it were a longterm solution for firm poop but it definitely clears things up for a few weeks and gets rid of the puddles. I only use it when Tuffy's soft poops become total pudding (no form.) If you end up transitioning Cooper from Premium Edge to the Purina One Sensitive Stomach formula it would be a good thing to use to avoid gastric upset.... Ultimately I still think it's about finding the right food but at least it makes the diarrhea go away!

My breeder thought I should put him on antibiotics for diarrhea and parasites but since Tuffy his test came out clear the vet was hesitant. Give Diabac a try and see what happens. It is totally safe and certainly can't hurt. And at least you won't have to wipe Cooper's butt for a week or so

Good luck...I know transitioning to a new food can be pretty yucky for a while. I hope the Diabac helps!

Here are some links...

It's widely available...below are links for entirelypets.com and Amazon. If you go on the Amazon url it has a good review. You just need to order the right sized capsule for your dog. You'd probably want the one for medium sized dogs. It is amazing!
