Does Ivermectin get rid of fleas also?

And can it be given to cats?
And can someone that uses Ivermectin give me the dosage again. I can't find my emails that have the dosage chart, and the dosage chart said something about mg's, but my syringes go by cc's or ml's, can someone tell me how to convert it?

Thanks!!

some clarifications

Yes, Ivermectin can be used for cats, for internal parasites, but the dosage needs to be calculated for weight and I recommend contacting your veterinarian for that info.

Milligrams relates to the strength, whereas cc or ml related to the quantity. You need to know the ratio of how much to give per body weight of the animal to know how much to multiply out for individual dosing. I will not be responsible for providing dosing information on Ivermectin since I don't know the strength of the product you are using.

Not really chemicals, but the Ivermectin,

I didn't want to give them too many medicines/chemicals if I can avoid it.
I am going to the feed store tomorrow to get the Ivermectin for monthly heartworm prevention, buying it from the vet for so many, it very costly.
My cats seem to have picked up fleas outside, so I wanted to treat all of the animals to be safe.

Rhiann, do you have a dosing chart for Ivermectin? I lost mine, and need to know how much to give by weight.

Thanks!

well what chemicals are you already using?

Are you using the Ivermectin as your monthy heartworm med?

Here is a comparison chart that i like, its very helpful so you can see whats out there, how it works, costs, etc

Not that I know of to put on the animals

but we use Sevindust 5% to kill the ones in the house. Helen suggested it and it really works well. =) You could do a search on it. It's sold at Home Depot. Is your house infested too?

Hug your bulldog every day.

Thanks, I was hoping it would act as an all in one..lol,

I guess I have to get flea treatments for them all, 4 dogs and 3 cats, so it will be costly.
Is there a natural flea remedy anyone knows about, and where I could get it? I didn't want to use more chemicals on the bullies if there is something natural.

I don't think so

Ivermectin is the base for Heartworm medicine. It kills heartworms. Hope this helps.

I don't remember the dosage. Hopefully someone else can help with that.
