Bump on back leg

hey .. I just noticed a larger than quarter size knot or bump on my bulldogs back leg.. he does not act like it is hurtin him.. i rubbed it.. and doesnt act like it bothers him too bad.. no hair loss or anything like that around it..but its pretty large.. any suggestions on what it could be? should i take him to the vet?

Re: if its on the upper INSIDE of the rear legs,

no.. they are not red.. but there were 2 last night.. and then another small one today!! really worried.. they are not botherin him .. i am takin him to vet this afternnoon.. oh my .. hope its not a cyst or somehitng bad!!!

Re: if its on the upper INSIDE of the rear legs,

is the bump red, hot or warm to the touch? if so, it could be an insect bite. just wash it and put cortisone on the area 2-3 times a day. if it's not red, but raised it could be a cyst and you an have the vet evaluate by doina a biopsy. Mine had lots of red bumps on his legs awhile back and i thought it was demodex. I had to shave his leg to put on the ointment and it cleared in about 3 days. if you're worried, take him to the vet, it will give you peace of mind.

Re: if its on the upper INSIDE of the rear legs,

No it is on the outside of the leg.. not that close to his bottom.. so that he is sittin on it.. like on the top part of his leg.. and the other side is little closer too his bottom.. but they are still both there this moring

Ok.. now on the other leg too

I just looked at him again.. and now on the other side back towards his bottom.. they is another one.. this is not as big. .maybe just quater size..WHAT CAN THIS BE???

if its on the upper INSIDE of the rear legs,

near the back (where leg meets body) it could be swollen lymph glands and that should be checked out by your vet. If its on the outside of the rear legs it could be something as simple as insect bites or irritation from sitting on some recently-sprayed lawn or planting, carpet recently cleaned or deoderized, contact with any type of chemical treatment of a surface that the dogs sits on for long periods of time.
